1. What We Collect
Dopamine Shop collects anonymous session data to improve your experience. Specifically, we collect:
- An anonymous session ID generated via a UUID stored in your browser’s localStorage
- Behavioral events: page views, product views, cart actions (add, remove, update), and checkout completion
- Device type and browser information
- Referrer URL (how you arrived at the site)
We do not collect real names, passwords, or payment information. No real payments exist on Dopamine Shop.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Improve the simulated shopping experience
- Understand product preferences and browsing patterns
- Generate aggregate analytics and usage statistics
3. Data Sharing
We may share aggregate, anonymized behavioral data with third-party market research firms, data brokers, or advertising partners. No individual records are shared. All shared data is stripped of any identifying information and presented only in aggregate form.
4. Cookies & localStorage
Dopamine Shop uses your browser’s localStorage to maintain your session ID, shopping cart contents, and cookie consent preference. We do not currently use third-party tracking cookies. In the future, advertising services such as Google AdSense may set additional cookies on your browser.
5. Email
If you provide an email address on the order confirmation page, we store a cryptographic hash of it. We may use this hashed identifier for marketing communications. We do not store your email address in plain text.
6. Opting Out
You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage, which will reset your session and remove your consent preference. You can also decline tracking when the cookie consent banner appears on your first visit.
7. Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about them
- Delete personal information held by businesses
- Opt out of the sale of their personal information
- Non-discrimination for exercising their CCPA rights
